Mission Statement:
To develop physical, mental, social and citizenship skills in our youngsters
through organized tennis activities.
Goals:
- Provide entry level lesson programs for youths to learn basic skills
- Approach competition by implementing the on-court play components
that include – Play Action Drills, Ralleyball, Junior Team Tennis,
Inter-club Challenges, Ladder Competition, and Tournaments
- Provide competitive training camps/clinics for youths striving for
excellence
- Provide health education that includes diet and nutrition, hydration,
injury prevention, drug/alcohol awareness
- Provide volunteer service opportunities for youths that allow them
to give back to their community and the lifetime sport of tennis
Core Values:
- Preserve the enjoyment of the game over winning
- Foster the TEAM concept that includes respect, trust, commitment,
cooperation and pride among team members and coaches
- Teach and enforce the Code of Conduct and Rules of Etiquette
- Provide a safe environment that encourages players to try new things,
take risks and test their abilities
- Develop and maintain positive attitudes
- Encourage communication between team mates, opponents, coaches and
parents that help to develop players’ social skills, leadership and
self-confidence
- Recognize priorities in the order listed – health, family, academics
The Kilauea Junior Tennis
Club is a registered non-profit organization with the state, a registered
USTA Community Tennis Association and a registered National Junior
Tennis League program. It is a sanctioned USTA program and therefore
covered under the USTA liability insurance policy.
